My Final Major Project Achieved a UAL Distinction in Creative Media Production & Technology (Games Development)

Terrified | Powered by arcadia

September 2024 horror game jam project, created in my spare time over a two-week period. Originally inspired by Hideo Kojima's PT, the concept evolved as I immersed myself in Arcadia—the no-code editor with a library of static meshes and node-based scripting. The footage captures the transformation from a simple hallway into a dark, eerie backroom, setting the stage for a narrative twist where the player might awaken in an office cubicle, symbolizing the nightmare of overwork. Regular feedback sessions played a crucial role in refining the experience, leading to key additions like a guiding spider that enhances the player journey. This project stands as a testament to my commitment to creative exploration, continuous learning, and iterative design.

Wage's Wings | unreal engine world building

This project reflects on how fast-food restaurants have become modern-day community hubs in urban settings. The objective was to design a visual narrative encapsulating the transformation of communal spaces, emphasizing the socio-economic implications of this shift. I conducted in-depth research into the architectural styles of British fast-food establishments and their roles within council estates. Utilizing tools like Unreal Engine 5.5, I crafted a detailed 3D model of "WAGES WINGS," incorporating elements such as weathered brick exteriors, large glowing windows emitting a warm orange light, and satirical neon green signage. The environment was further enriched with realistic lighting and texturing techniques to evoke a nostalgic yet critical ambiance. The final render portrays "WAGES WINGS" as a symbol of contemporary communal convergence, sparking discussions about the commercialization of social spaces. This project showcases my technical proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering and highlights my ability to intertwine architectural design with socio-cultural commentary.

A GUARDIAN GAME | UNREAL ENGINE GAME DEVELOPMENT FMP

"A Guardian Game" is an action-adventure experience for PC, developed using Unreal Engine 5.3. Set in a reimagined Hyrule, the game casts you as a Guardian—a mechanical marvel tainted by Ganon’s return—tasked with exploring a ravaged land, uncovering secrets, and engaging in light, comic combat. With a top-down perspective that employs a simulated tilt-shift effect, the game offers both manual control and marker-based commands, delivering a unique “playing god” experience.Key to the project is the seamless integration of procedural animation, featuring full IK for all six legs of the Guardian, which ensures smooth, lifelike movement. Throughout development, I tackled challenges such as 3D model imports and animation tweaks by leveraging tools like Blender and Unreal Engine’s Control Rig, all while maintaining detailed dev logs and a structured project plan using Trello. The result is a playable demo that not only highlights technical expertise and creative vision but also demonstrates my ability to iterate and refine based on continuous feedback. This project stands as a testament to my problem-solving skills and passion for creating engaging, immersive game experiences.
